| - Let me begin by saying I used to love Pho Real. It was absolutely my favorite place to get pho in town and also was my favorite restaurant in general.
However, after going there today, that has changed. I had many friends tell me it had gone down hill in quality of service and food as of recently but I didn't believe it and went anyway.
When my boyfriend and I first got there we were approached by a less than friendly man who basically sat us down and went away for 15 minutes while we sat there without a drink. Finally, a girl came over and took our drink order. We told her our drink order and then ordered our food as well since we didn't want to wait even longer.
I ordered what I usually do- the garden vegetable soup in the "just right" size. Usually that size is more than enough and loaded with flavorful broth, plenty of noodles, and tons of veggies.
My boyfriend ordered just the most popular traditional pho in the "just right size".
Our orders came in a timely manner but when they got there I looked down at my bowl and it was very little broth, a bit of rice noodles, and hardly any veggies.
When I say hardly any veggies, I'm talking like one slice of carrot, two slices of zucchini, and a single broccoli floret. On top of that, the broth wasn't as flavorful as it usually was.
Luckily, my boyfriends food was fine.
All in all, I am disappointed by the level of service we got and the food I received.
I'm unsure what happened to Pho Real but I suggest looking at the recent reviews before you go. I wish I had gone to another pho place and paid the same amount for more food, better service, and better quality.
If you want a suggestion of a better pho place to try out, try iPho off of Park Rd.
