Receptionist took forty minutes to get to my paperwork, when we asked why two people were seen before us she stated it I was a new patient. Yet prior to that she had time to chit chat with a patient on how her 16 year old kid is now driving and she isn't a taxi driver anymore. Prior to that when I submitted my slip she was on the phone trying to sort things out, possibly from what I gathered needed help with insurance processing. She took about a minute with my banner card, almost possibly denying my visit. I don't think new patients should be penalized when they have to fill out extra paperwork. I don't mind waiting but when when you have slow, no sense of urgency people at the initial step in the process it kind of makes a sick patient more agitated than what they already are. This is just waiting to be seen, as I write this review I am going on an hour wait with no one in waiting room to be seen except myself. Finally I get called in and told there is two patients ahead of me. I wonder what the wait would be if the waiting room would have been full. The doctor was awesome and very attentive to my concerns. The initial perception very poor.
8 months later same urgent care and same receptionist named Teresa wanting to deny my visit even though I have two insurance cards and could pay with my HSA card if I needed to. My primary somehow has my wrong birthdate and she is challenging me in front of everyone and so what. If Aetna doesn't pay banner will or I will pay with an HSA card. I wonder how patients are treated if they don't have insurance? What kind of society have we become? Do we not treat anyone anymore with common courtesy and respect? What gives this person, Teresa, the power to deny patients seeing a doctor? Because a birthdate is inputted incorrectly? Because I'm Mexican and make more money than she does? I don't understand. I have been waiting 30 minutes and I got here when no one was even in line, both receptionists where watching TV in the lobby (hard at work). I can hear lots of laughter inside and again someone goes in before me that got here 15 minutes after I did.
