  • So I've been to Malee's 4-5 times. It goes without saying, but I love this place. The location is perfect, the atmosphere is perfect, the ambiance is perfect (especially for a dinner date!), and the pricing and portions are reasonable. I usually like to try different things on the menu, but since the very first time I've gone to Malee's, I've always ordered the Yellow Curry. The first time I ordered it, I ordered 4/5 spice. Wasn't spicy enough. I felt a minor tingle on my tongue, but wasn't satisfied. After my second visit, I ordered the same dish, but 5/5 spice this time. And let me tell you guys... Each time I request 5/5 spice, the waiter/waitress always asks me, "are you sure? you know that's chef's spice, right?" The first time they asked me that, I just nodded my head and secretly thought to myself, "oh please. I can handle my spice." And then my yellow curry came out, but it wasn't yellow. It was red. The dish is extremely flavorful. It's loaded with chicken (if you order chicken, obviously), carrots and potatoes. It's got a thick, creamy coconut base, but it isn't too heavy. It comes with a side of rice, too. But most importantly, this dish is ACTUALLY S P I C Y. My tongue was on fire, I was sweating like a pig, and I actually drank my glass of water. For those of you who think you can handle spice, I'd definitely recommend trying the yellow curry 5/5 spice. Although, I'd recommend bringing a couple of Tums, just in case. Oh and if you're ordering take-out and you decide to microwave the curry, be sure to cover your eyes, nose and mouth. You've been warned. Enjoy! .
