I like going to Youfit. At least as much as one can actually like going to the gym because let's face it, going to the gym sucks.
I haven't had to deal with any shady dealings from Youfit. In fact, most of the gripes I've read about in the hateful reviews were discussed when I did the original walk through with the Youfit employee.
The gym is simple, but it has everything that most people will need. Treadmills and other space age cardio machines I don't know how to use. Lots of weight machines and a free weight area.
The bottom line is that you have the opportunity to tour the place and ask questions before signing up so don't complain later that it doesn't have a swimming pool or offer pole dancing classes.
The gym has always been clean and the staff and other gym goers have been friendly enough. I'm not there to make friends though. I'm there to hate my life for 45 min to an hour and then leave with the satisfaction of knowing I'm going to now go to The Stand and eat a delicious cheeseburger and wash it down with a vanilla shake... because I earned it.
Is it the greatest gym on the planet? No. That's why you pay $10/ month (which goes up to $15/month after the first year -- discussed/in contract). Is it the greatest gym on the planet for $10/month... it very well may be. I don't know. I've never been to all the gyms on the planet.
