  • Visiting The Unknown with my husband and 3 other artists before the Heroes Convention, I was impressed with the location, building, and decor. I really liked their interior design and the look of the place. There was more than enough seating when we were there on a Thursday afternoon/evening. Even a food truck outside. They have a stack of board/card games for your use as well. While we were there they started up a cross-fit (minus the equipment) class in the brewery area. Very, very sweaty people in the area where my beer is being brewed, meh. Not that appealing. Stinky, sweaty people in the bar after they workout, also not appealing. I'd prefer my breweries stick with yoga if anything. Or at least do the workout outside. Okay, back to the beer. My husband and I got a flight of 4 beers and out of those we only liked one. He prefers IPAs, I prefer Sours, Farmhouses, and Saisons...and their winner was.....a Porter! Yep. It was really, really good too. Imperial Tele-Porter for those wondering. We also had the 3.5ish, Bright Ass Tank Top, and Over the Edge - all lacking flavor and felt watered down. the block of wood that their flights come in is cute, however the bartender over poured everything and it was flowing over the wood and created a very sticky experience. Also, no suggested drinking order for their flights, which I find is a flaw at a lot of breweries. Some flavor profiles will blow out your taste buds and should be saved for last. Next year in Charlotte, I think I will venture to the other side of town or stick to Wooden Robot in this neighborhood.
