I'll admit, after seeing Food Inc. I actually started giving a shit where my meat comes from. I'm never going to be a vegetarian and I don't really care if a meat is certified organic - i just care that the food which ends up on my table is treated humanely and not pumped with antibiotics and hormones through the course of its life.
While Rowe farms isn't organic, They are all about natural, locally-grown, hormone-free farming. Which, now, is important to me.
The Bloor West location has fantastic staff that are always helpful. Sara, in particular, has been my go-to girl. She's helped me out a number of times with either preparation tips or even calling another location to see if they had stock of what I was looking for (in this case 6 racks of ribs) - Which is how I met Matt over at the Roncy location. The positive experiences at both locations compelled me to write this review and hopefully more people will give them a try.
Their dairy case is often cheaper than Metro or Loblaws - same products, just a wee bit cheaper. Rowe also has locally grown vegetables and prepared foods from Sabor Latino as well.
Whether you are a looking for a quick grilling idea and don't want to fuss with marinating or preparation, or you need to stock up on meat for the week or even if you want to pick up some organic dairy - give Rowe Farms your business.
