  • Overall good coffee. I'm at a 3.5 for this place. There was one barista who helped our group understand their business. Troubadour does their own roasting, which is pretty impressive for a small local shop in the burbs. They also don't add cream or sugar (or very little, at least) to allow the taste of the coffee to fully flourish. I can definitely respect that. They offer regular coffee options, as well as pour over and siphon (vacuum). My friend had the siphon and she enjoyed watching it happen. I had an Americano (a little over $3, kinda pricy but understandable given that they roast their own coffee). Pretty good flavor and very smooth (no bitterness), though comparatively, it wasn't as strong as other places. re: ambiance, it feels like a contemporary-ish (but not modern) coffeeshop with the muted yellow painted walls and bean-related decor. It seems like coffee is their main focus, not ambiance. They had a few tables and one couch, so it didn't seem like a place to spend your day. It's also pretty far from the city, so getting here is not convenient for urban dwellers. If you're looking for a more modern ambiance, there are places to go in the city to receive that. If you're looking for a solid cup of coffee, good service and you happen to be in the area, Troubadour is a great place to go.
