| - Chuck Ebbs at Zimbrick Chevrolet
Our original intention was to roll into another 3 year lease; keeping the same brand and same model as the car we were in.
That desire changed after repeated frustration with a local store representing that brand.
Our experience with Chuck Ebbs at Zimbrick Chevrolet was professional from the very first contact; he responded to telephone calls and emails promptly; all of our questions regarding residual rate, rebates, and the money factor were answered honestly; for example he let us know that when building a vehicle (in this instance a loaded 2017 Chevrolet Malibu Premier), the programs in place at the time of the ordering/configuring may not be the same as when the vehicle arrives.
After we were already committed to going forward, working with him and ordering the car, we received a surprise phone call offering to pay the last lease payment on our current car and our monthly payment on the new car went down too as a result of changed available incentives!
While this was exciting, it was not the best part of our car buying/lease experience.
First some context to what was the best part of our leasing experience: I have owned and/or leased a 1987 5.0 Ford Mustang, 1990 Chevrolet Camaro 5.7 IROC-Z, 1993 Toyota Corolla, 1996 Chevrolet Camaro 5.7 SS with Ram Air, 1999 Chevrolet Cobalt SS. My wife has owned a 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo, 1996 Honda Prelude, 1996 Oldsmobile Intrigue, 2004 Buick Regal LS and 2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL. This is a partial list of the cars we have owned/leased not provided here to brag, but to point out that all of those vehicles were acquired new, and all of those vehicles came with a new car "orientation."
In some cases the sales person stayed in the newly delivered car, pointing out the salient features and after 15 minutes said "good-bye."
I am not ashamed to admit it took 3 days, with Owner's Manual in hand, to set up all the features in the 2014 Altima 3.5 SL and I am computer savvy.
When we arrived to pick up our car and complete the paperwork, Mr. Ebbs began teaching us about our car; about the available apps for it, demonstrating at his desk how they worked.
He then took us to the car and step by step began asking us about our preferences relative to the features and applied them! He demonstrated all the available functionalities of the safety systems and "infotainment" system. He contacted On Star and we selected (from 3) a program to start after a free 8 month trial.
We were in the car for close to one hour so comprehensive was his orientation.
My wife had to go to a bank to obtain a counter check and he rode with her.
The time, attention and energy that Mr. Ebbs invested in our car buying experience from beginning to end was beyond belief; ESPECIALLY the new car delivery. It was unlike any we have EVER had.
We left feeling so grateful that the car was already set up and that in turn conferred immediate confidence in driving it.
This review is specific to Mr. Ebbs. Though the dealership is called Zimbrick Chevrolet, and Mr. Ebbs represents Zimbrick Chevrolet, the truth is our experience of Zimbrick was our experience of and with Chuck Ebbs; he was Zimbrick to us.
