  • For starters, it will always be Jacobs Field to me. Secondly, it is the home stadium of my Cleveland Indians, so I automatically love it. However, this review is going to compare it to other stadiums. The New York Bankees have their $1.4 billion Taj Mahal, and other cities have their new, shiny $500 million+ stadiums. Hell, I even think the Red Sox just got done adding a $20 million suite to Fenway Park just for Bill Belichick and his toupee. Cleveland, meanwhile, has a stadium that is fairly new and is kept clean. While it isn't the most expensive stadium -- it was built in 1994 at a price of $274 million in today's dollar value -- it gets the job done. Everywhere in the park is a great view. There is tons of memorabilia here from yesteryear, such as Bob Feller statues, Bob Feller jerseys, Bob Feller's retired number -- you get the picture. Also, tickets are reasonably-priced. The one thing that really pisses me off is how expensive beer is here. Cleveland is not an expensive city; beer should not be $9.50/pint. In Seattle, a much more expensive city, beer started at $4.50 at Safeco Field. If you want to come see the Tribe, just make sure you get blitzed before and after the game. It's much cheaper.
