| - Finally got brunch at Daisy Cafe, and it was great. The first good sign was that their menu looks awesome, and there were multiple things that appealed to both my husband and me.
I had the Chorizo & Avocado Omelette, and I loved it! The house-made chorizo was tasty without being too greasy or overwhelming. The egg was fluffy. The avocado was a great balancer, and there was enough to have some with every bite of omelette. The breakfast potatoes were also really good, as was the fresh fruit.
My husband's Chili-Espresso Steak Hash was good, if not as spiced as we hoped. The real star for me was the super-tasty tomatillo avocado salsa. I saw this with other things on the menu, and it was good enough to sway future choices.
We also brought a few cupcakes and a butter cake home. The butter cake was excellent, as was a carrot cake cupcake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting. I wasn't crazy about the buttercream-frosted cupcakes. The frosting was very buttery, not very sweet or strongly flavored. Fine, but not my jam.
I liked the eclectic, east side atmosphere, and the waitstaff was friendly and kept my water and coffee full. I went in really hungry and ate my whole meal, but I could easily see having leftovers from their generous but reasonably-priced portions.
We'll definitely go back. The Chicken, Chutney, Chèvre sandwich is calling me already.
