| - Of all the Chipotles, this is my favorite one. I know there's been a lot of stuff in the news lately about customers getting food poisoning from Chipotle's sick or cross-contaminating employees but I can tell you from experience, I've never had even a minor upset stomach from eating at this specific Chipotle. Now, the Chipotle on Arlington Rd, that's a different story. I won't go back to that one anytime soon.
I went here last weekend with my husband and it was nice that it wasn't packed. In fact, I think we were 3rd in line. That never happens! Maybe it's because everyone is afraid to eat Chipotle?
Anyway, I looked over the meat options and I'm usually a sofritas (tofu) fan but this time I wanted to try the carnitas (shredded pork). I can't believe I've waited so long to try them! SO YUMMY!!! The sofritas are pretty amazing but I think I'm converted to carnitas now. I'm not sure what seasoning they use on the pork but I'm a little obsessed with it.
My husband is devoted to their steak. I always make him try a bite of my meat but he never strays from the steak. I agree though that the steak is great. It's tender and seasoned well. Neither of us have ever tried their chicken but honestly, it's chicken. Chicken will never be my first choice. I detest it! Haha, ok, maybe I'm being a little dramatic. I do eat chicken from time to time but it's not my favorite meat. Oooh, just a random thought, I think shrimp would be a good option to add to their menu...so long as they can find shrimp that meets all their requirements which would probably be pretty close to impossible, especially in Ohio. But I digress...
I know everyone has different tastes and people are pretty protective of their Chipotle orders. lol. But I wanted to share what MY favorite bowl combination is so here's what I usually get:
-Sofritas OR Carnitas (pretty obsessed with both)
-white rice (could eat this by itself it's so good!)
-black beans (need the fiber)
-corn salsa (adds sweetness and my Chipotle isn't the same without it)
-green tomatillo salsa (slightly spicy)
-sour cream (the more, the better)
-cheese (something magical about this stuff)
-guac-a-mole, guac, guac-a-mole (yes, I know it costs extra but I dance when I eat it)
This order weighs about 5 lbs. and I get two meals out of it. So I don't see Chipotle as an $8 meal, it's two $4 meals.
Hubby requires chips so we always get them but I could take em or leave em. The lime salt flavor is great but they always taste stale to me.
Overall, favorite Chipotle location, fast friendly service, clean, and the food is always fresh.
