| - I think it is awesome the Kingdom of Hendo has become ground zero of microbreweries in Southern Nevada. Sadly, it was after I moved to the extreme opposite end of the valley. Perhaps.....this is just as well. I probably would have ended up in all kinds of trouble.
So now I sit on said opposite side of the valley...watching...reading...stalking...the various this or that on yelp. One day I would spy Lovellady Brewing Company (LBC). Having enjoyed some of the other breweries in Henderson, I could not wait to check it out.
After battling the traffic on the 215, I would end up back in Hendertucky to run an errand. With the errand completed, the GF and scoped the yelp app for a bookmarked business in the area for lunch. One was found and so food was eaten. Next up was a no brainer...we were going to check LBC.
LBC is located in the 20 block of Water street. You can't miss it. The is ample parking in the back minus (at this time) any sort of marked line that I can remember.
We walked through the door, and two gentleman were shooting the breeze on some cozy chairs. These two gents clearly worked at the LBC. The rest of the open and clean lined establishment was empty. Don't judge...it was a Saturday and possibly 5 O'clock somewhere else.
The GF and I sat at the bar and proceeded to check out the chalk menu above the taps. One of the gentleman followed and assisted us. I would later figure out the this gentleman was the owner. We later introduce ourselves. His name was Bob.
Bob gave us a menu which was easier to read than the chalk menu. I settled for a sampling, i.e., a flight of 7 different beers. I sipped and tracked via my UNTAPPED app.
All the beers were entertaining and delicious. I also ordered a pint Tres Amour. Tres Amour - A Belgian Abbey ale that is deceptively easy to drink. (8.5%/vol 20IBU) Golden, lightly hopped with a touch of coriander and clove on the finish (http://loveladybrewing.com/pages/beer-listing).
LBC has it going on. They have food trucks showing up at the FRONT of the business thanks to Bob's communication with the city. Wise Guy's showed up when we were there but there was no need for food..only beer. A schedule is on FB, which I do not have. I reckon you could always call ahead to find out what glorious chow will complement your beer.
While taking with Bob about the Hendo beer scene he said Henderson is very accommodating to the brewer. You can bring in any growler (properly labeled) and fill it up unlike the City of LV.
An added bonus...LBS will can a 32 oz. brew while you watch of whatever is on tap.
Great beer, great times, I look forward to making a future journey for another visit. I almost forgot....I asked Bob about where the Lovelady Brewing name came from. He told me it was his last name. I totally agreed that with a last name like that.....who wouldn't name a fine brewery after themselves!
