This was my first trip to the Grand Canyon. I chose the south rim because based on recommendation it's the deeper side of the canyon. According to gc tours' website you should arrive back around 9pm to Las Vegas it is now 11:00 pm that I am writing this. The tour had 45 ppl and 5 children. The bus driver could not keep count and we would lose someone each stop and have to wait. I can't say the bus driver didn't give clear instructions but it is just common courtesy to maybe give ahead of the time since people are going to show up late by nature. I cannot say the beginning was a problem but it was the end when we were to stop on the way back to get fuel for the bus. I am traveling with my elderly father and the bus driver directed us to two places across the 6 lane hwy Wendy's and Popeyes to eat dinner from the gas station we were. It was extremely unsafe and no crosswalks at 8 pm dark at night. He also warned that the town has a lot of drunk drivers "so be careful when crossing the street." This was not professional and promising at all. But out of desperation of hunger I went across the street with the entire tour group who also complained that this was horrible idea. I just felt that he could've just driven across the street after gassing up for safety reasons. There were other elderly and young children crossing the dark hwy. I have also included photos to show you how dark it was.
