  • Even before I moved to Nevada, I knew of NVenergy because they are notoriously corrupt, and want to keep out things like solar energy so they can pretty much boink consumers in the bee-hind. Some former tenant agreed, like a complete moron, to let NVenergy control their thermostats. 1) this makes as much sense as having a gas company control how much gasoline you use in your car; and 2) that should NOT be allowed, PERIOD, by a -tenant- to grossly modify the owners' property. So "conveniently" no matter what I set these thermostats to, "magically" NV energy resets them (as if that isn't creepy enough) to 68 degrees or less. No wait, it gets better. The owners home warranty guy could not replace the faulty unit absent permission of NVenergy. Said (long story) NVenergy must authorize a replacement. So I called them, and they said "we cancelled the program, that's your problem." Wait, WTF?! NVenergy is jacking the hell out of my AC bill with THEIR faulty unit but it's "not their problem"?! Pure insanity. Congrats, NVenergy. You are indeed absolutely bit as corrupt and nasty as your reputation. Kudos to all the dirtbag legisators you bought off to screw consumers. Wow. Just. Wow. ========================= A rep just called me out of the blue and contradicted everything yesterday's B growled at me. Un. Be. Lievable. I told them the truth: Whatever tenant who agreed to let nvenergy control their thermostat is a buffoon, and I'd rather agree that Exxon can tell me how much gas I'll be using in my car. Horrible company with zero accountability, like all government granted monopolies who just want to bend over consumers while paying off politicians. "I don't know who told you that" (today's rep). Well Gee, there, Cody, given that your reps other than you mumble their name so they cannot be called out on being wrong holes, 1) I do not recall; 2) I'm going to make that you're problem and cancel your insane "skynet controls my thermostats" the down and dirty way. Trash can, meet NVenergy's bogus faulty money grabbing jokes for "thermostats."
