I was looking to purchase a new Ford SUV. My salesperson was Damon. I really liked Damon. He had a great personality and a wicked sense of humor. I road tested the vehicle and I then decided on getting approved for credit. The train came off the rails quickly when it came to San Tan Ford's pricing. It was the typical BS games that most dealers play. The first price they bring to you is to test your level of stupidity. If you're a special kind of stupid, you'd pay their first price they give you and their sales staff would laugh as they filled out the sales paperwork. After receiving their first price, you have to roll your eyes and tell them their sales price is ludicrous. So, round two of them "having to go back and talk to their sales manager again" begins. 15 minutes later, the salesman and sales manager come out with yet another price that's way too high. The sales manager does his song and dance BS.
I left at that point. I told them to call me if they want to sharpen their pencil and sell the vehicle I was interested in for market value. I did receive a call an hour later and yet again, the price was simply too high for a 2017 vehicle that they needed to move off their lot.
I will say, everyone that I was exposed to at this dealer was very friendly and nice. My issue was with their stupidly high prices they were trying to get. I'd done my research before going in. I knew what the particular models were selling for.
I then went to Earnhardt Ford in Chandler and BOUGHT the same vehicle that was spec'd the same exact way for $3,000 dollars less than San Tan's "best, bottom line price". The sales manager at Earnhardt said that San Tan Ford was great at pushing customers to them due to San Tan Ford's high pricing. :)
