| - Hyped about Dakao, did not expect to LOVE the Bánh mi as much as I did. Very unassuming spot and set up, and boy do their sandwiches rock. Tried the house special (traditional Bánh mi) and the grilled pork, both with all the veggies and perfectly crunchy bread made the perfect 'wich. The ratio of bread to ingredients is perfected, as are the flavors, and the sandwich itself is actually possible to bite through because of the crunchy and good quality bread. Don't get me wrong, these sandwiches are not getting 5 stars for being novel, culinary masterpieces - it gets 5 stars because they are simple, easy, and exactly what they should be. No silly experimentation or unnecessary changes, fresh and well prepared meat and veggies, and the most reasonable price point possible. If you're craving the flavors of a Bánh mi, and want the best quality, no frills, authentic version outside of Vietnam, look no further. Take away is assumed. If you're eating a sandwich later in the day, ask for the veggies on the side so they stay fresh and crisp throughout the day.
