| - I flew into Charlotte for a business meeting and booked a room at the Residence Inn Charlotte Piper Glen through my company. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were very friendly.
There is a small parking lot and several restaurants within walking distance across the street. It is good that the restaurants are in walking distance because parking is quite limited for the size of the hotel. I recommend not moving your car once it is later.
A pool and recreation area with tennis courts are available if you have more time than I did. Of course it was, 100 out when I stayed so I wouldn't have been interested anyways. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout the hotel but coverage is spotty.
The staff were friendly, yes, but they weren't always completely attentive or present at the counter. On multiple occasions the night of my stay I witnessed guests needing something, but they were greeted by an empty counter. One lady was trying to purchase an item from the hotel shop. She was unable to give this business her money because the desk was unstaffed. No one showed up after waiting more than five minutes.
The facilities were clean, and my room was ready when I showed up. Everything was stocked an in place in the room, but it was clear that it had been cleaned right before I showed up because most of the surfaces were wet. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet so I can't really complain!
The morning of checkout, I was not given a bill under the door. I had to ask about it around 6:30 am at the front desk. Somehow my room had been missed.
The breakfast available is fairly standard for a hotel. I suggest getting to the lobby at 6:30 am when breakfast is first served so the food isn't sitting out too long before you get to eat. The coffee isn't that great so I ended up at Starbucks across the street before hitting the road for the airport.
My stay was comfortable and everything was clean. I can't complain too much, but there are definitely some areas that the hotel can improve upon.
