We finally had an opportunity to drive to Green's Phoenix location and it was amazing!
First we had the artichoke gratine, which was very artichokey, not very cheesy. With heavenly Daiya vegan cheeses and Tofutti ricotta cheese out there, it is possible to make ooey-gooey vegan dishes. However, the gratine was still tasty.
The vegan crab puffs were crispy and had a nice texture, but fell a little flat with flavor. Perhaps a dash or two of kelp flakes would give them a bit of ocean spark. The dipping sauce and lime wedge added extra needed kick though.
The absolute delight of the meal was the big Wac sandwich-- 2 veggie burgers that had an awesome flame broiled taste were smothered in a special sauce and then layered with pickles, lettuce, and onions. All this between two sesame seed buns-YUM!!! Next weekend, (if we wait that long!!) we are going to try the BBBQ (vegan)bacon burger and mac n cheez with veggies. I Love vegan comfort food!!!
