My father went to this urgent care because his family physician wasn't available and they accept his insurance. First, this is run by Physicians assistants and a DO. Who are very much against antibiotics and said so to my father. The PA got slightly confrontational and told my father he was not going to give him any antibiotic for his walking PNEUMONIA because he "believes" our society is too dependent on them. When my father informed him that not only did he attend medical school but two of his brothers, a nephew and my husband are surgeons, physicians etc. then the guy backed off and gave him an antibiotic.
Now we have the billing issue. My father has good insurance and was told the he owed an extra $130. My dad asked why he was charged $400 for an appointment that lasted all of five minutes, the lady said that's what we charge. Um, pretty sure he's just out of school and isn't a specialist. He has no right to charge people that amount for a PA to see patients. A PA with a serious anger issue who has no right to get into the face a patient and spout his political nonsense on.
I called one of the other locations and was told the $130 was a membership discount card fee. There were no X-rays, no blood work, the PA just asked questions and was rude, heated and clearly doesn't care about patients. These are the types of people who don't enter the medical field to help people but to make money. And that I have a huge problem with.
