  • My boyfriend and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary at T Cooks yesterday and it was amazing! From the moment you walk up, the place is breath taking. Very relaxed romantic, we loved it! The food was devine! We started in the lounge where they run an awesome 1/2 off drinks and appetizers happy hour with the best poutine in town! OMG I have no words for this heavenly couldron of hot perfectly cooked short ribs carmelized in its own jus on top of crispy french fries with some euro cream cheese! God made that chef to make that dish- NO DOUBT ABOUT IT (and it's $7 during happy hour.) We moved our way over to the restaurant which has a very upscale ski lodge feel to it. COZY! They knew it was our anniversary so they decorated the table with rose petals to make us feel special...and we did! The chef sent us 2 glasses of champagne the moment we sat down, delicious and thank you! Then on to dinner...He had the NY Strip, liked it, but he's always a bit of a critic. And I had the seasonal paella. A decision I was hesitant about right up until our lovely server, Candy, said those 2 beautiful words...pork belly. That chick knew I was going to bite! LOL. It was thoughtfully cooked with hidden gems all throughout it. Went for the lobster tail add on, good decision, and the only critisism I have is that I am still left with about 3 days worth of food from that dish. It is a definate sharer, and when you go that route you and your date will walk away full and without breaking your budget. 2 1/2 hours into dinner and Vasil and I can't fathom eating another bite, but that sneaky server Candy knew we were in for the long haul and brought over the dreaded dessert menu. A selection of creative, rich desserts that all sound so good, but then I see it... Caramel Cheesecake Creme Brulee...I AM IN!!! Then our dessert menus were stripped from us and we were informed that the chef had something special for us instead...WHAT??? But the cheesecake? Much to our surprise, the chef must have read our minds because he sent it to us! Not to mention the decadent devil's food cake he also sent all playfully displayed on a beautiful plate decorated with chocolate to wish us a happy anniversary! We did indeed have one. Thank you T Cooks for an absolutely unforgetable evening and one we will struggle to ever top again!!! You have a very warm and welcoming staff (special nod to Candy), an awe inspiring chef, and a beautiful and romantic restaurant. Overall, one of the best experiences we have ever had and worth EVERY PENNY!
