| - Firstly, location is very odd. Even for someone who's lived in the city all my life, I would never find myself in this area.
Daddy O is in a really small, old, neighbourhood plaza...that I'm not sure if even the neighbours would frequent. The reason why is because there's only a few units that consist of a Starbank (convenience store, not the chain café), a dry cleaners, a coin laundry, a weird restaurant (that I think a stripper/prostitute walked into), & then Daddy O.
After getting over the location, I decided to get a Sausage Roll ($3.50) and a doughnut with a chocolate/toasted coconut with salted caramel topping ($2.25, smaller than Tim Horton's/Sanremo). I also tasted a bit of my friend's Chelsea Bun which is sorta like a cinnamon bun with apples/raisins. The dough itself though on the Chelsea Bun was a lot denser, heavier than a cinnamon bun.
Out of those 3 items, the doughnut was the best. Sausage Roll *definitely* had to be reheated at home, in the toaster oven, for optimal results. The meat itself in the roll was nicely seasoned and you can tell that it wasn't from the grocer's freezer section. Pastry was quite buttery.
If you find yourself here, I'd say stick to the doughnuts UNLESS you go there early enough in the day. If you're thinking of getting anything other than a doughnut, it would not taste as good than if you go in the AM.
Again, it's a shame about the location, location, LOCATION!
