| - Like many, I love the craft beer movement that has occurred in recent years. Goldwater Brewing is the epitome of what I enjoy about this pastime. The location, situated in the heart of tourist town USA, is great. The style, an old re-purposed building with an industrial style consisting of exposed brick, wood trusses and ductwork, is everything a brewery should be. There is a large roll up door on the front that makes the space one with the sidewalk and street out front as well as a good patio space off of one side. At the center of everything is a long L-shaped bar where you can enjoy your beer while watching all of the action and possibly make some new friends. There is one TV that can be viewed from the bar which is perfect as it allows you to still keep tabs on the game while still feeling like you're in a brewery and not a sports bar. Another plus for the free popcorn and accompanying assortment of seasonings. The only negative I could say, albeit an insignificant one, is that I'm not a fan of the copper lined counter. It looks cool no doubt, but it's the feel and smell it leaves on your skin I don't care for.
As for the beer itself, I don't think you could go wrong with any of the choices dependent on you own personal preferences. There were fourteen varying choices on the menu as of March 2017. The Birthday Suite IPA and the Desert Rose Cactus Ale seemed to be among the more popular choices that I observed. I tried the cleverly named AU (gold on the periodic table) American Pale Ale and it fit its description to a tee. I also had the Golden State Ale and found it to be extremely smooth. If I would've had more time I would have definitely tried more of the offerings.
They also have a nice selection of cool merchandise such as t-shirts and glasses. I bought a really nice soft knit cotton t-shirt with the Goldwater logo on it. The t-shirts are in my opinion, slightly on the pricier side at the $26 price range, but high in quality and fit well.
All in all, this is a great hangout spot at the heart of the main strip. The beer has been well thought out and crafted. Another plus is that the bartenders working on the two nights I visited were very friendly and attentive. If you like breweries, this is one I recommend checking out.
