| - I have been going to Modern since their days in Southland because they are local. I've given the benefit of the doubt for nicks and cuts, twisting fingers, and sub-par pedis that are really just a glorified foot bath. The other day I had what will be my last visit. After a really bad day I had to get my nails filled for an event the next day and I needed a pedi. I thought it would be a relaxing way to end the day.
First I mentioned that the water was too hot, so my person turned the water on full force- I assumed cold. She motioned for me to put my foot in, and I ran it under the water, which was scalding. It burned about 3 toes on my right foot and was really painful. After all this time don't you think that hot and cold would be pretty clear? I don't think it was really on purpose, but it was a rough mistake. After my pedi I was seated at the dryer, as my person took another client. I reminded her that I was getting my nails done, too, and she said someone else would do them. I was made to wait 40 minutes for someone to do my nails. If I had not really needed (first world problem- I know) my nails to be done I would have been out the door. I did get the fill from someone else, and another cut on my cuticle to go with the burned foot. I really thought that they would take a percentage off of the bill because I was visibly upset, but the total for the torture was still $83. I left a small tip for each woman, because I understand that accidents happen, but on my way out instead of them saying good bye like they usually do, I honestly felt like they were talking about me. I'm sorry to leave on a bad note, but when you start hurting people enough is enough.
