| - Moved into our house in December. We were told we would move in in October. During the process they consistently deceived us into thinking it'd be done on time (this was through the summer when no work was being done). Finally they said it'd be by the end of November, then mid December, we finally got the keys December 27th.
Also during our process, the customer service was terrible. As mentioned before, they consistently lied to us. The people we discussed the finishes with were either completely unprepared or they were unwilling to help us. For example, we wanted a farmhouse sink. We were told by Woodside, we could get this. When we talked to the person doing the sink, they said it was impossible. They really got pretty rude about this and called us out on asking the Woodside rep for this. Other requests went similarly. The flooring rep was more or less the worst customer service I've ever had. Very dismissive, unhelpful, usually rude. In general, there was a lack of communication between Woodside and their flooring/tile/cabinet suppliers.
We also asked for the dimensions of the laundry room to see if we could get a certain washer/dryer. We were told on 3 occasions by 3 different reps (2 office people and the foreman), that the room would be big enough. Once the room was constructed, it was not big enough. When I expressed my frustration with this, they told me, "Well, you're the ones who bought the washer and dryer. We never told you to do that." Obviously, I wouldn't have bought them, if they would have even said "You might want to see just how big the room turns out." But no, more lies and excuses.
Any time an issue came up, it was someone else fault. Either the electric company wasn't cooperating, or they had to find a new crew for the framing, or the weather, etc. They were constantly giving excuses for their delays and screw-ups.
I could go on with many more specific examples of how bad they were, but I'll stop here. We were excited to build a house with Woodside initially. It turned into one of the worst experiences of my life, at least as far as purchasing something goes. I cannot warn you enough to not go with Woodside. It will be a constant frustration. They will lie to you. They will give you excuses any chance they get. Just don't do it. I can't imagine the possibility of the other builders being as bad, unless they do illegal things. Don't go with Woodside.
