| - Based on the other reviews I'm reading about this location, I am not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. For people saying "they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car" that is bound to happen to anyone at any point no matter where you take your vehicle. Further, if you have a sophisticated or complex vehicle with specific parts or intricacies, you should ALWAYS trust that to either the dealer or a specialist, which is no slight against Kerry's but just common sense, in my book.
My experience with Kerry's has always been a positive and honest one. I have been coming here for about two years now, for both small maintenance like oil changes and also for major repairs. I have never felt pressured to fix additional issues that they've found but they are always honest with what they think could use some tuning up. For the few times my car was going to require heavy and costly repairs, they understood when I said I could not afford the repairs and did not try to make me do them anyway.
I feel recently inclined to write this review based on the services I received from Kerry's this last week. I was in a small accident on 12/28 that caused major damage under my car. When my insurance suggested I take the vehicle to their "suggested mechanic" I declined and said I would rather go to Kerry's since I trusted them and they were right near my house. My car was brought in and within an hour I received a call that they checked out the damage and let me know what it was looking like at this point. They were honest and said there could be more damage they're not seeing quite yet until they get further in, so I should be prepared for that just in case. I appreciated that they were upfront me with me (I always plan for the worst and hope for the best!).
This was my first time in a accident that involved me working with my insurance and I wasn't sure how the process worked. Kerry's, specifically Alex and Anne Marie, were extremely patient and helpful with me during this process. The reason I wanted to write the review now, after all this time, was to point out that the insurance company quoted me somewhere around $2,400 for the damages to my car, which I thought was crazy (there was certainly damage, but that much...? no way). At any rate, the insurance approved the cost of repairs, I gave the go ahead to Kerry's to get the repairs going, and less than a day later I got the call saying the car was good to go. The positive catch: the insurance quoted above what it cost Kerry's to replace the car, and Kerry's only charged what it cost them. They could have easily taken that extra grand or so, up-charged me, "found other things to fix" or who knows, but they were honest and only "charged" what they felt was owed. I think that speaks a lot to their character and business ethic (and honestly the dishonesty of the insurance company who gladly would have had another shop fix a thousand dollars in damages for two thousand...).
TL;DR: I'm sorry if you've had a bad experience here, I hope it was a small fluke or a miscommunication. I will continue to trust both my vehicles to Kerry's and will gladly suggest them to friends and family.
