| - We went here for two reasons: Wanted to try Ionic Foot Detox & We found what we had thought was a decent deal online.
Things that went ok: Our wait wasn't very long and our massage therapists were relatively attentive.
Sadly the list of things that went awry is the longest list of all:
A. Lack of communication by person that checks you in and massage therapists. They couldn't understand that our online deal we booked included the foot detox. We had to keep telling them it was included, but they wanted to charge us more. They finally checked with front desk and agreed that it was included.
B. I went with somebody and we got a two bed area to be massaged at the same time. Massagers we're talking and laughing amongst themselves for most of the massage which didn't help us to relax.
C. Although we were asked at times if the amount of pressure was ok, they used some sort of what felt like a "roller" device the length of our spines, and that part was really rough for us both. Both of us that had massages are now very sore and actually in pain. We go to other massage places and this has never happened to us before. It's bad news when you need another massage because of your previous one.
D. During the foot detox, the water in mine was turning a dark color and both the massagers kept coming into our area pointing at it and laughing about it. It seemed pretty rude that they kept doing it, it certainly doesn't make me feel good or relaxed when I have the people I have paid good money to laughing at my expense to my face on something I have no control over. Not only that but they kept coming back in and out for more personal comic relief.
E. When we were done, I tried giving the massager a tip for us both and although he understood everything else we had said to him, he motioned that we should present the tip to the cashier instead. When we went out there and did so, both massagers were present there as well. I told the cashier what I was doing and she gave us a funny look and proceeded to tell us that because we had gotten a good deal online, that the tip should be more. She held up a sign (that was conveniently on her desk not in plain view) that the tip should be AT LEAST $15 or $20 each. I mean, you can hang a sign on the wall and hope it influences people, but don't make a stink face when I give you what I believe is fair and point to a sign you have conveniently tucked away for that purpose. All the things I mentioned that went wrong is how I derived at the amount we were tipping. Besides, last time I checked tipping was OPTIONAL and at the patrons discretion! I mean, we could have not tipped at all, but we're better than that, but don't question my generosity! After reading multiple reviews others have left, this particular issue seems to be commonplace here.
Needless to say, myself or my companion will not be returning here. This turned from what should have been a relaxing experience into a miserable, stressful one.
