First of all I will say the quality of the tile work and carpeting is very good. The scheduling and follow up leaves a lot to be desired.
The initial consultation was very good-the sale person helped me pick tile and carpet that went well together. We made arrangements 3-weeks out to get the work done.
Day 1: Good work. About 4 hours to remove old carpet and drop off laminate for the stairs and mezzanine.
Day 2: Great work. About 3 hours or so to install carpet in living room.
Day 3: * Tile installer arrived and spent a few hours removing base boards upstairs and from the stair landings. Was wondering why the other material was missing. Was on the phone for a long time with his boss-said there were problems with the curved stairs. Express called me--I asked why this wasn't done in the 3-weeks prior. No answer. Asked to have sales person call me. Never received a call. Was told a supervisor would come the next day and make a template to "mold" the laminate to curve. Installer did no work on mezzanine. No tile work was done.
Day 4: I finally called office at 10am. Supervisor went to wrong house. I was told someone would be out the next day.
Day 5: Lead person came out with crew. Did a few planks on the mezzanine and discussed how we could change the curved stairs to "45 degree" angles to use existing tile. I agreed.
Day 6: Lead person and crew arrived. The reconfiguration looks great. Crew worked until 830pm to complete work.
After planning for work to be done in 3-days as the sales person stated I ended up using a week of vacation and a Saturday to finally get the work done. The quality was great. Being ignored by the sales person and the lack of effort to get the work done on schedule will prevent me from using Express in the future.
I do not endorse or recommend Express based upon the service and lack of commitment to complete the work as agreed upon.
