High quality establishment with cleanliness and layout as key benefits. Lobby was nice and well appointed. Service in lobby (including doormen) was excellent and always on guard. There were no issues getting cabs and the doormen were friendly and respectful. Front desk staff was solid with no major issues. The concierge was decent, but unfortunately lacked that superior insight on the sights and sounds of Toronto. Also, the concierge's hours were less than optimal and it seemed liked no one else had any knowledge on those types of matters than he.
Rooms were spacious with newer furnishings and good sized television. Very poor channel availability and thus a failing grade on this one. Not great for business or professional travelers. Beds were fairly comfortable and room temperature was reasonable.
Location was excellent if you desire the Yorkville area. If you want to take a cab into the downtown area, be prepared for a $15 cab ride.
I recommend Intercontinental Hotel Toronto at or below $200 per night.
