  • I traveled to Choklat yesterday in hopes of splurging on some fine chocolate for my boyfriend. I when I arrived I was greeted by a small, sullen brunette with facial piercings (and an allergy to friendliness). I asked if she had a sample of any of the dark chocolate so I would be able to get an idea of the flavors I had to work with. Wrong move apparently. The young lady informed me that they do not give samples of anything and likened her store to a "fancy wine shop", saying "you wouldn't go into one of those and ask them to pop every bottle would you?". A fair call, however, I did not ask her to "pop every bottle" I requested a single sample to give me an idea of their product. To be honest I would have been happy to have her recommend something, maybe sell it to me a little, but no she simply scowled at me until I left with nothing. I will never return. I wish I could give zero stars as a rating because that would be well deserved. As the manager of a retail store I understand that you cannot bend over backwards for everyone, however, your job is to make the customer feel satisfied even when they are not getting exactly what they want. I hope that the owners of Choklat do not continue losing business because of their rude staff who clearly have little product knowledge. I would hate to see another local business go the way of the dinosaurs.
