| - My friend and I decided to try out Annvita, for an afternoon tea and a catch up session.
The entrance is a tacky room full of different teapots, teacups, and other tea accessories for sale. When you walk into the restaurant however, you have the choice of sitting in two rooms. We decided to sit by the window.
The decor in here is very unforgiving, I understand they're going for a British vibe, but they really overdid it. Their restaurant monogram doesn't have to be everywhere you look. Sometimes less is more.
I feel like playing classical music would be more appropriate. Their bagpipe music drove me crazy.
We shared a pot of vanilla rooibos tea, and a lava cake. The tea was cold, and had very little flavour, but we enjoyed the lava cake.
The only plus about this place is the wait staff. They were dressed impeccably, and were very polite. They ran us through the menu (which is very extensive and confusing), and we asked them what they recommended.
All in all, my friend and I could have had a better experience downtown, for the same price. I have mixed feelings about this place, but I'm probably not coming back.
