| - I am attempting to take over managing a property for a friend (it's not my main profession, I'm basically doing it as a favor). His property is currently managed by these people (he is deeply dissatisfied) and I have been trying to get in touch with them for three days now to find out when I can come and get the paperwork, deposit, etc. So far, it's been a wall of silence.
I was given the contact information of the person who is supposedly handling the closeout of this account, so I attempted to call her and was sent to voicemail. Her voicemail message was pretty telling. Paraphrased, it went like this:
"Hi, this is so-and-so, I'm not available at the moment, I will be engaging in task X until 10AM. After that, I will be unavailable the rest of the day performing task Y. Please leave me a detailed message so I can respond to you with a correct answer. Please keep in mind that I get a tremendous volume of messages and it might be several days before I am able to get in contact with you."
Wow. Several days? Wouldn't you think they'd give some consideration to hiring enough people so that their lag times aren't 60+ hours? Perhaps she's one of those people who just feels lucky to have a job. Perhaps she's even being told she's lucky to have a job. Crack that whip! Work 'em so hard they can't answer their effing telephone for three days on end!
Where I'm standing, this is pure, unadulterated Bravo Sierra. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but now I'm fairly sure this is just going to be a huge pain in my rear end. My advice is to steer well clear of these clowns.
