| - I booked a couples massage as a recovery day for my boyfriends birthday weekend. It was very pricey so I had very high expectations. From my previous experience at another resort I paid less but had more things offered for spa guests. I really only booked this because of the good ratings, and it was in the same hotel we stayed at. The place is beautiful, but I thought the front desk of the spa was a little lacking in the warmth department. The front desk was bright- so I was more energizing than relaxing. I felt like I had bothered them from their personal time up front when I was checking in. The smile and greet felt very forced and fake. That was fine, since the girls up front were young. We were taken separate ways once we got upstairs. The lady that had helped me tour the spa for the womens lounge was alright. She wasn't the warmest but she wasn't rude. I was expecting them to have some cereal and fruit for the spa guests ( like most of the spas in the area) but they only had small snacks. Banana chips, carob chips, walnuts, and dried cranberries, to be exact. I felt a little bad for my bf because I knew he was starving and I had promised him there would be food here. I was wrong. The spa's ambiance was just alright. I wish it was a little more dim for the relaxing feel, but everything was so bright. The great thing about the facility was that it was very complete though. From tooth brushies to facial moisturizers, to tampons. Once I was ready and dressed for the massage, I met my bf at the coed lounge where we had water and the MOST AMAZING blue berry oat cookies in the world. I'm not sure if it was hunger but we both had at least 6 before going in for the massage because they were super delicious. We were greeting by our two therapists. They were both very friendly and welcoming. The massage room thankfully was dim, and relaxing. Jackie did a phenomenal job on my massage, to the point where I fell asleep. It was very relaxing and I didn't want to leave the massage bed when it was over. We were brought to the mediation room too cool down after the massage and were given water and told to stay hydrated after the massage. I really didn't want to leave the massage bed, did I mention that? I could've stayed there for the whole week. I knocked down two stars because of the customer service from the front desk and hosting tour, and the fact that they don't offer anything more filling in terms of lounge snacks. I did have a great experience with the massage and my bf loved it too so that was the most important. I would come back if I had to, I would just make sure to haven a light breakfast before coming in so I wouldn't keep thinking about food the whole time there. I total I spent $350 for two massages, plus tip.
