I love this place except that they now charge for locals that bring their own skates. They didn't in 2016, and the manager Anthony failed to communicate this properly to the concierge staff, so that when you call the property to ask questions, they give last years information.
When I arrived with my 8yo to skate for just 30 minutes to try out his new skates, Anthony said we were taken care of for the day. I said I was planning to come back with a friend the next day and we were excited to go skating, but weren't expecting to have to pay, but he said we would have to. He demanded to know who I talked to on the phone and I said it was a positive conversation so there was no need to remember or take a name. He then rescinded his offer to allow my son and I to skate.
He took something away from an 8yo that he had already given. I had to go to the concierge to inform them of what happened and they offered me recovery to improve the situation, but all we really wanted was the skate time which is free.
Anthony should not be in a role where he deals with customers. I'm sure if he treats his customers this way, he probably treats his employees poorly too. His bosses should be aware of this and take proper action.
