I am so reluctant to give this low review but I feel I must.
I am a 70 year old caucasion male with a history of heart disease ( heart attack and quadruple by pass). I made this clear to the receptionist.
I had grabbed the wrong wallet and did not have my insurance card with me. I did have photo id ( Arizona drivers license) and multiple credit cards along with enough cash to self pay. I have been treated at many Banner health facilities, so my info is on record. In truth I spent over a month in and out of Banner Thunderbird.
I had my social security number available which is my medicare id number.
The receptionist made no attempt to find my info. I insisted I would self pay. She wanted me to have someone to take a picture of my info and send it to her.
I explained, I lived alone and that was not possible. Again, I said I would self pay. I also told her that as soon as I got home or first thing the next morning I would have my info available. It was 8 :15 and I did not have time to drive home and back by 9 pm.
I was having trouble breathing and was coughing.
SHE FLATLY TURNED ME AWAY.
Today (the next day) I went to another Urgent care facility. I was seen in 5 minutes and had a diagnosis of pneumonia. I will have my xray results tomorrow to validate the diagnosis. They put me on meds today.
I recently made the same mistake while on a trip to NY. I went to an amazing Urgent care in West Nyack , NY. They found my insurance info using my social security number. It took under 3 minutes.
SHAME ON BANNER URGENT CARE
I don't blame the receptionist she was pleasant . I feel she was poorly trained.
