| - I worked at this company through a staffing agency and when I shown up for the interview, God Bless my little heart but I knew I was in for a few bucked eyes and raised brows. To begin, the front of the house staff had piercings, tattoos and that God awful trend of faded rainbow head. Anyhow, honestly I was happy I didn't have to hide my tattoo as I did with other employers. So it was an experience. So this company actually provides the customer service for many companies. Samsung, State Farm, Amazon...I worked the Nike account. You go through about 3 weeks of training and then you're put on the floor to work on your own. The great thing is tou have help that's always available.
So this company is UNPROFESSIONAL. The first day of training this gentleman told us never to dress up again, as it was making him uncomfortable. My trainer didn't seem to know exactly how to train, but he knew a lot of product knowledge which doesn't equate to a trainer in my opinion. I remember requesting an early shift in advance because I go to school, and was completely shocked when he said how sometimes you have to drop your classes if you want to work. Ummm NO! I noticed the individuals with children were given a lot of leniency. A missed day here, early off there...but as someone without children asking to leave an hour early was like pulling teeth.
I worked in the chat department. I didn't take calls, I responded to emails and chats. I guess because this area rarely had actual phone calls it was alright to have conversations with your neighbors, neighbors cousins baby mama about everything and anything besides actual work. The crazy part is they labeled this energy. The company measure employees by customer surveys. You would either get a great one or a horrible one. Either way that would ultimately determine whether or not you got a bonus or kept your job. It's was a strange way to measure employee performance, as many times the consumer would state they were upset they couldn't get a certain type of shoe. Anyhow this place is not for the experienced employee. It would be a great fit for someone just starting out, fresh from 12th grade. Someone still foolish to believe a job such as this is stable. Quick to hire...quick to fire. Remember that little one. Save your money for that cushion because eventually you may be let go. I didn't expect permanent, and I didn't have any plans. This job actually came at a time where it really was beneficial, so that quick to hire was great!
