Mom mother told my brother and I repeatedly "When something happens to me, call the number posted on the side of the fridge and they will take care of everything." NOT the case.
Mom passed early on a Saturday and after 3 calls to the number posted within the first 24 hours, someone finally called us back. After suggesting first that perhaps we had not actually called when we said we did, and second that the "area code we phoned from was the problem" she said she would be in touch with me Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. when the officed opened. Monday morning came and went and I finally called at noon after hearing nothing from them. (again)
There were many "would have been nice to knows" in that first 24 hours that simply didn't happen. The breakdown of communication between the answering service and the actual people you need to talk to is inexcusable.
Our mother's remains arrived two days later than originally stated, which is okay but a phone call or email would have been nice. The death certificate still has not arrived as stated and again, a phone call or email would have been nice.
We have previously dealth with a California office when our dad passed and that experience was much more supportive. I cannot recommend this office to handle the needful during such an already emotional time.
