I checked in on Friday July 12th for two nights.
You're given a magnetic key for access to the first floor of rooms leading to the rest of the dorms in the upper floors. You quickly realize that key becomes pointless since that door does not lock despite it having a magnetic swipe, leaving it open for random strangers to enter.
When it came time to crash for the first night I found myself tossing and turning, not really sure as to what it was that was keeping me awake. I then started scratching myself... "WHAT IS THIS?!", I think to myself. I'm overcome with the need for sleep and ignore it. I wake up, look in the mirror and my back is covered with huge bug bites.
I notified the front desk staff on the Saturday evening about what I experienced and showed him the marks on my back. He said the bites didn't have the characteristic markings of bed bugs, and that they were likely SPIDERS. Oh that makes it better. He said the best thing he could do was to give me new linens and for me to switch beds in the same room.
HERE'S WHAT IRRITATES ME:
Upon check-out one of the staff who appeared to be management, well aware of who I was, didn't express any concern whatsoever about the quality of my stay.
**I WAS NOT OFFERED ANY DISCOUNT ON THE DISCOMFORT I WENT THROUGH**.
I really should have been more vocal as there were multiple people arriving that morning looking for accommodations. I regret not warning them.
It's Monday the 15th now as I type this and my back is still itchy form the bites.
I'm surprised this building hasn't been demolished. It's in a decrepit state.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
