| - I am not one to usually write bad reviews, its not worth my time. However, my fiancees and mines HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with East Charlotte Nissan is something that not only infuriates me, but is the WORST customer service and experience we have EVER had buying a car.
Back in July 2014 my fiancee made an awesome deal with one of the cars salesmen Norman, who was so courteous to work with, on trading in his lease and rather than re-leasing, buying a fairly new, used car. We thought everything was great, the car was nice, that experience in itself was nice... and then the hell began.
A few weeks later we got a letter in the mail saying that his registration had expired and he had a custom plate that he had lost as well, due to the registration. We were perplexed?! We called the DMV and they said that the registration was for the altima, his previous lease he gave back. We called the dealership and they were confused and said we had to come in and nothing could be done over the phone. Imagine my frustration when we had to load up our 3 year old to drive 30 minutes away and handle something that should have already been handled.
After getting there, we waited for a good 30 minutes, even though they were informed we were coming up. The finance dept let us know that they "forgot to inform the DMV and change over the car/vin, yada yada. We were annoyed to say the least. My fiancee lost his custom plate and now had fines for lapse of registration, etc. They said they would take care of it and we would get a temporary plate in the mail soon.
Eventually we got the temporary plate but about a month after that my fiancee was checking his credit score, which he has worked so hard for might I add, and it was dinged 40 points!!! He went from a 760 to 720. We were confused and livid. It turns out, the lease he gave back in order to purchase the other vehicle had never been "grounded" as they explained. They had dropped the ball a second time now, and this time it affected him personally. The dealership never "closed out" or "grounded" the car so it looked as if he had missed 3 months payments, which is why it dinged his credit.
We called and explained, drove down there a 3rd time now only yo be told "were sorry about that, it will be corrected in a few weeks, you will get a letter in the mail". We were pretty much at the mercy of a staff who didn't seem to know how to do their jobs.
Today, we get the letter in the mail and somehow its says from corporate nissan we owe $575.00 as part of the "end of lease" statement. Excuse me?! Everything that was owed remaining on the lease, taxes, disposition fee, last months payment, etc was supposed to be taken care of with NOTHING out of pocket from us since he purchased a car on the spot.
So I just called myself, asked to speak to a manager. I was directed to Mike Simone, assistant manager of new sales. I explained the situation, never being rude or nasty, just straightforward and explaining our frustration even though we love the car....
I have NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE been spoke to so condescendingly and with such aggression from a man. He was rude, cutting me off, telling me that he "isnt going to talk to me about it since he isn't privy to the information and who we are and since I'm not on the lease." He is correct, I am not on the lease, and even with how nasty he spoke to me right then I said "Well then if you can wait 2 minutes my fiancee will be off his conference call for work and you can speak to him but this is ridiculous." He then proceeded to tell me "You know what ma'am? I'm gonna call YOU back in 30 minutes when I'm ready to talk about it and when I can figure stuff out of you guys can just come down here. I'm not talking anymore to you about it. I'll call you back, or actually I will call HIM back when I'M READY."
I was in shock. He was VERY aggressive, nasty, etc. I looked right at my fiancee and said "this guy is a jerk, he was just so mean to me" and Mike Simone goes "Oh so now youre calling me a jerk? Is that what you said lady? You said I'm a jerk?". I didn't respond and hung up the phone.
We are going to go up there a 4th time now. I am highly upset, offended, disgusted, and OVER IT with these people.
The ball has been dropped numerous times and then to top it all of I was spoken to in such an inappropriate way. I would recommend to everyone to NEVER even step on that lot.
Shame on East Charlotte Nissan for their numerous mistakes, hassles, and for the way they have handled the situation thus far.
