| - DO NOT RENT FROM SILVER STATE REALTY & INVESTMENTS. Since we moved into our condominium at the end of July 2015, we have had the following problems:
-We requested a pool key when we moved in. It is now January 2016, and we have neither received a key, nor heard back from the receptionist, who was, "looking into it."
-My bedroom blinds and toilet seat have fallen off twice because they were taped back up/on. This is hardly a repair. It takes up to two weeks to see any "maintenance."
-They do not operate by standard rental terminology. Rent is due the first of each month, and they state that tenants have a 3-days-grace period. This technically means that rent is due on the fourth- an employee reassured me of this over the phone. When I tried to pay (this single instance) on the fourth, they referred me to my lease agreement, and refused to accept rent without a $50.00 late fee. The employee with whom I spoke via telephone denied any involvement, stating she never spoke to me.
-They have harassed us with phone calls and threatening e-mails. They put a fake eviction notice (effectively a warning) on our door because of an unpaid $250.00 pet fee- for an animal I do not own.
-They refuse to allow anyone to meet with or correspond with supervisors or managers at the office. They are always, "out of the office." And no, they never know when they're returning. They offer no phone numbers, and none of these people return e-mails.
-They charge a $17.00 "convenience fee" for online debit payments, and a $27.00 "enrollment fee" to set up auto-pay.
We're responsible, quiet, clean tenants, yet we have been treated like pond scum since we moved in. Advice to other tenants: familiarize yourself with Nevada's tenants' rights. Document every shady, underhanded thing this company pulls. Keep records of all correspondence. Find out who or which group ACTUALLY owns your condo, as SSRI is a middleman. File complaints against them with the Better Business Bureau and/or FTC if you experience problems like we have.
