The reviews might have been sketchy in the past, but they were relatively accurate. The place was slow and filled with oblivious college students who did not care about the customer or the product. Each time I went was a hit or miss experience.
As I understand, there is new ownership of the place as of 2012. I could even tell before I was told. The new workers are seemingly handpicked now. They even go out of their way to try and establish a connection with the customers if they're not busy.
It seems to be working. I've been eating here for over 2 years, and the place is cleaner. There's outside seating, and the lines are at the door (never happened before). I highly recommend this place over Campus Candy, whose "yogurt" is made out of powder and tastes artificial.
The pricing might be intimidating, but you actually pay more with self serve. 50 cents might be daunting for some strawberries, but if would cost more if you put it under a scale.
