  • 2.5 stars. To sum it up... creative, photo-worthy, overpriced and (super) sugar-loaded drinks. I was really enticed by the cute Instagram posts of Peace Treats, so I finally went to try it with the TOfinest food crawl passport. We ordered their festive drink Smore Money, Smore Problems and D.R.E.A.M (Donut's rule everything around me). - Smore Money, Smore Problem: A hot chocolate with a lot of whipped cream, 3 toasted marshmallow and a rim coated with chocolate and graham cookies - D.R.E.A.M.: A cold vanilla milkshake with a lot of whipped cream, a scoop of chocolate ice-cream and a donut. For both my first sips, I had the same reaction - WAY too sweet. My friends and I couldn't even get past a few sips each, and had to give up half of the drink... We're normally suckers for sweets but these were a bit too much... I'm not sure if it was a mishap, personal preference or if this sweetness level is their norm. I was fortunate to only pay $5 for each drink due to the food crawl passport, but normally the hot chocolate is $6.50 for a large and $8.50 for all their specialty drinks. On the bright side, you'll definitely get awesome/hip photos of your Peace Treat drinks - so if you're into it, it's a to-go stop in Toronto. Also, the names for their drinks are witty, and the overall vibe of the place was clean and brightly lit. All in all, would I come back? Probably not... too sweet for me but it might have been a one-off for them or a difference with my personal preference.
