| - Working in the Hayden Ferry Lakeside biz complex on Tempe Town Lake, there is no shortage of people trying to sell us lunch. We have options on Mill, the cafe in the complex, food trucks, pop-ups, and all the usual delivery services. Still, it is always welcome when the company decides to buy us some food.
Today, we were the lucky recipients of Sierra Bonita Grill's new(ish) catering service. They showed up early and were set up on time. The buffet line was well-organized (which is helpful when attracting a herd of hungry co-workers) and the food was warm (noteworthy, because not everyone seems to be able to pull this off) and the staff was friendly. The succulents they used as table decorations were a nice touch!
Our buffet had tomatillo chicken, smoked red chile pork, charro beans, charred tomato rice, and what-tasted-like-homemade tortillas. A beautiful display of probably the most decadent fudge brownies you might ever taste rounded out the line (word to the wise -- take small bites).
All of the food was good, but seriously, when I die, please put a take-out container of the smoked red chile pork in my coffin with me - you know, just in case. It was THAT GOOD.
We're already bugging our managers to order from them again. As soon as possible.
