What a great little local Italian spot!
My husband and I decided to go out for a late meal on a Friday night and we had called around to a few different restaurants in the area only to be turned away by all of them. I had read about Fiamma here on Yelp (thank's yelpers!) and we decided it was a good time to give it a try!
We made reservations on OpenTable. I love when restaurants have Open Table! We got to the restaurant which was mostly empty and were immediately seated.
We were seated in the upper level which I really liked. It seemed a little more intimate.
When we were seated a waiter came over and poured our waters and set down some homemade pesto, homemade foccacia and breadsticks.
The foccacia was little bit over salted for me, but the bread was warm and crisp. The pesto is some of the best pesto I've ever tasted.
The waiter was very kind and explained the specials in a lot of detail to us. We decided to do pasta dishes, as we were there to eat homemade pasta!
I ordered a pappardelle with a mushroom sauce and truffles. It was creamy without having too much cream. I think that was due to the poached egg that sits on top of the pasta. It was pretty tasty. My husband ordered the pappardelle bolognese and really enjoyed it... so much so that he completely finished his plate!
Both pastas were about $17 each. For the amount of hand crafted love that went into each dish and the portions, we felt that was very reasonable.
We are so happy to be walking distance when we move later next month!
