I saw via a post from both Alton Brown and Umami Burger about a special collab burger and I wanted to try it so I go on down and then the server informs me they don't have specials after I mention the Alton burger. The reason I came is not there, disappointed I don't wanna feel like I wasted my time so I order their truffle burger and simple fries. Didn't take as long as I thought it would.
The patty was thick though undercooked (I like my steaks rare-med. rare but when it comes to burger I prefer medium+ normally.) I didn't mind that too much. Sadly the burger was overall disappointing. The meat was way too under seasoned and they amount of truffle aioli they put on the burger was sad. I didn't even taste it. There was some on the plate and I tasted it and it was good. Shame they didn't put enough on the burger itself to lend any flavor what so ever. Patty, a slice of melted cheese and a thin squiggle of truffle aioli is all I got. No other toppings that could have helped impart the burger with some flavor.
The fries came out cold. They are super thin and while crispy seemed overlooked and hollow.
Overall my experience was very "meh." Definitely over priced for what you get. I didn't taste quality, poorly seasoned beef led me to tasting not much of anything to be honest. Just the burger and regular fries after tax was $19 and change and I left not satisfied. I suppose I should be thankful they didn't serve the Alton Brown burger as I am a fan of his and if I had such an experience trying the Alton Brown I would be even more disappointed.
