The food here was absolutely unacceptable. I ordered the eggs benedict with pork loin--the pork, eggs, and biscuit on their own are of high quality. But I couldn't believe my eyes when this dish hit my table and--instead of seeing a layer of hollandaise atop my eggs--the biscuits were swimming in a pool of what appeared to be pure melted butter. Taken aback, I believed this was simply the way St. Francis has decided to prepare its eggs benedict--otherwise, surely no reasonably aware server would serve an eggs benedict with bare eggs and soaking wet biscuits.
Unfortunately, I went home after my meal to look at photos of the eggs benedict on Yelp, and it appears that the restaurant does usually utilize hollandaise sauce. So now I'm forced to wonder how anyone could ever imagine serving to me the inexcusable mess I received today. Phoenix Public Market Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants, but its sister establishment simply does not hold its own, at least not based on my experience today.
