Let me start of by saying that I'm not a REI fan to begin with. I think they are usually the higher priced retailer when you can buy the same item online for less.
With that said, I had some giftcards and wanted to buy a fitbit that was in a locked display case This area is near the check out area and the guy behind the cashier immediately acknowledged me and requested that some one would help me soon.
Well . . .after 5 minutes, this cashier looked at me and apologized that they were so busy . . .but that some one soon would be there again. The same exchange took place at the 10 minute wait time and then again at the 15 minute wait time. Finally, after waiting 20 minutes I went and hunted down a person who was putting a back pack together for some one and asked if he would open the locked display. He immediately came over and did it.
Now . . . why the hell should I have to wait 20 minutes to have a display case opened for me? Why doesn't the cashiers have keys that could open these cases as they had time when no customers were buying things when they could have opened it for me. Seems like the management needs some help here.
Please do something about your service . .. I saw other people upset about this as well.
