| - So far my family and I are happy with our new home from AW. However, the good times end after you move in. Dealing with the daily 5:30 AM wake ups from the sub-contractors who barely speak English and don't care about the current residents is a real pain. We all knew purchasing a new home in a New developing neighborhood would bring these types of disruptions but do they have to leave trash, nails, screws and other building materials in the street and on my property? I contacted my sales representative twice now about this issue. He tells me the construction crews are to clean up each day before they leave. Well, that doesn't happen. He even told me he contacted the superintendent and he was going to check out my complaint. (I even sent pictures of the trash in my yard). I never heard anything back and it is still going on today. I returned a plastic bottle to one of the workers that he threw down into my fenced backyard asking that he not throw trash in my yard. He just turned away and ignored me. Dealing with the daily road blocks and rudeness is a pain and it would appear that AW doesn't care our has no concern for the people who have already purchased homes from them, that already have your money. Good luck to all the other new residents.
Well, after I posted my review to my surprise I was contacted by my sales person Duane. I was told my review was read by the V.P. of AW and they were quite concerned over my issues. Duane came over to my house and I showed him some of the issues. I had already cleaned up the mess but was asked to contact AW whenever I have issues with the construction. I am reasonable and know that the construction continues but I am very happy that the VP takes his position seriously and has genuine concern for customers of AW. Thank you who ever you are and a big thanks to Duane, my wife and I are glad we had you as our AW representative.
Well I now have to let you all know that things with American West have gone down hill. Their sub-contractors continue to damage my property and cause havoc in the neighborhood. They are building a house next to mine and a few weeks ago they put roof tiles on top of the roof. They dropped roof tiles off the roof which struck the side of my house damaging the stucco and scratched one of my new air conditioner units. I called my AW rep who told me there was nothing they can do, call the Home Service Plus rep and report it. After three weeks they showed up and slapped some stucco on the wall, cleaned up the area removing all the roof tiles and loose nails. They told me that should not have happened and they were going to contact the AW superintendent. I never heard anything more. Today, they put on the roof next door and decided it was good practice to use a yard blower to blow the loose tiles, nails, etc off the roof into my yard and against my house. The tiles hit the side of my house again. Debris struck my window and a tile landed on my air conditioner unit. I yelled at the workers to stop blowing into my yard. He just yelled back in broken English, "five minutes". I asked to speak with their boss but no one spoke English. I drive over to the model home sales area and told the lady working there I wanted to speak to a superintendent, she took
My name, address and number then got on the phone with a perspective buyer. After 5 minutes I walked out. Again AW does not take care of their buyers. They hire people who do not care about the home owners living in the area. I sure hope to hear from the VP who was so interested in my last complaint. I have a lot to discuss with him. My advise to those moving into the development, Don't. Save the frustration.
