| - I usually shop at the Publix stores in Matthews or in Huntersville. I rarely venture into Concord, but today I decided to see what this Publix was like after seeing an ad in Concord Mills that they were open.
I want to state that I have always been a little confused about the passion of Publix devotees. Yes, the workers are friendly, and that is a welcome change, compared to Harris Teeter and (bleh) Walmart. But my favorite grocery store, Trader Joes, also has friendly employees. My Publix obsessed friends go on and on about the bakery and the sweets. I went into my first Publix months ago and was underwhelmed. Did they look delicious? Yes, there just wasn't much I was interested in. Until today.
This Publix has a wider selection than the Matthews/Huntersville stores I have visited. I actually had to put some sweets back! There was more hot and cold food selections. My other passion, health food drinks (kombucha, green smoothies, flavored ACV, etc) were there in abundance. I knew right then I would be back anytime I was within driving distance. I'll have to drive past countless HT's and the Publix in Huntersville, but it's worth it. Whenever they get to building one near Highland Creek, I hope it's the same as what I found in Concord.
