| - I lived in an A1 on the first floor of D building for a year from 2013-2014. The main reason I chose this place - location, location, location. It sucks that you have to go a little ways out for groceries, but you're super close to Mill Ave and 10-15 min from Scottsdale. There were a lot of things I liked about it, but also a lot of things I hated - hence the average rating.
I liked the underground parking and the mailboxes for your building being in the garage. The elevators were horrible - super slow and they're like a sauna in the middle of summer. Super helpful when you're moving in or bringing up groceries, though.
I never had a big problem with noise, I don't think I ever heard any of my neighbors (upstairs or next door). The hallways do echo, which wasn't bad during the week but you can hear everyone going out on the weekends.
I LOVED the size of the closet and the mirrored door. The garden tub in the bathroom was nice, but the counter tops in the bathroom were abnormally high (but then again I am REALLY short). I also liked the built in desk. Living space was huge for me.
The kitchen is a good size, loved having a pantry. Had several issues with the dishwasher, but maintenance fixed it in a decent amount of time. I didn't like the stacked washer and dryer - it didn't fit a full load and I always felt like I had to run the dryer multiple times.
Management IS horrible. They NEVER answered the phone when I called and you'd wait forever if you wanted to talk to them. I avoided going into the office is I had to, but I felt like I had to be super aggressive to get any maintenance in. Maintenance was pretty quick about getting things fixed. Moving out was HORRIBLE they charged me an arm and a leg for everything, I was just glad to be ou.
Overall, it wasn't bad living here. It's in the middle of everything and the light rail stop right was super convenient. I moved out because they tried to raise my rent (FYI when I lived there it was under $900 but you know, inflation I GUESS) and I didn't really like how loud the college kids got on the weekend. It's hit or miss, but I didn't hate living here.
