I didn't see any animals that looked unhealthy and the store seemed clean but that's where the pros stop and the cons begin. There were dogs in glass fish tanks that were not able to move around. And since this place is in a mall, it seems unlikely that there's anywhere for the staff to take the animals out for regular exercise. There are signs up that say none of the animals come from puppy mills, but the animals are bred to be sold for profit. That doesn't necessarily make it a puppy/kitten mill, but it does show that they may not have the animals' interest at heart--and the extremely confined living conditions confirm that this is probably the case.
Finally, the walls are covered in religious and extreme right-wing political propaganda. Of course the folks running the store are free to believe whatever they want, but it was weird to have Tea Party crap shoved down my throat while I was looking at kittens.
